The modem has reported that there is no dial tone.
Try the following:

Please make sure the phone line is properly plugged into your modem and the wall jack, and make sure the phones that utilize this line are not off the hook. |

Re-boot the computer -- turn it off, wait a minute, then turn it back on. Now try to re-connect. |

Check to see if there a dial tone by plugging in a handset on the line. |

Check to see if you have any features that would change the dial tone sound, such as voice mail or a fax macihne? If so, disconnect or disable these devices. |

Add commas before the phone number you are dialing. Each comma adds a one second pause. Slowing down the call can help the call processing. |

If the problem persists, refer to a qualified technician. |
